First the mission part and then the area.. ok!
Highlight of the week: we got to hear from Elder Martinez, our area seventy, and his wife on wednesday and then again thursday. We had the zone leaders and the sister training leaders all together for a what was a council or sorts. A big meeting about what the seventy wants us to change in the mission. Sounds rather low-key and boring, but was actually an excellent meeting. There was just so much athourity in that room it was rediculous. We really have inspired leaders who know how to get work done.
I love leaving meetings feeling super charged from the spirit. It's awesome to have leaders that move the mission. People who really move our focus to where it needs to be.
This week, once again, our good pal Urbano could not find the correct information for his marraige so we have postponed his baptism for the third time. But we did have a baptismal service for a little guy named Leandro. He (as of august) has completed a year heading to church on his own. His parents are a whole lot less than supportive, and didn't even show for his baptism. But we'll keep passing by and invite them to attend with their son.
Real fast, ROSANNA (our investigator sent from the heavens) is progressing and socializing with members, going to church, saying prayers and loving her visits with the missionaries. She's great. On tuesday she surprised us with hand-stitched ties! Score!! They're incredible. She also said the opening prayer for Leandro's baptism. It was hilarious, she was praying and said '' thank you Lord for the oppurtunity to be here for the baptism of . . . what's the kid's name again?'' and had a short pause before someone filled her in. and said '' oh right, I was just talking with him a minute ago, Leandro..''. Awesome lady. Just needs to get married.
I had some real inspired thoughts to share from out zone conference with Elder Martinez, but I left my notebook I've had since the MTC on the bus with ALL my notes and thoughts. But know that the mission makes miracles happen, and not just in the lives of the missionary. We are incredibly blessed to be partakers of this gospel truth, It's now on us the pass the light to others. Hope you all get a fun missionary experience this week. Just be ready when they come (Peter 3:15)
Love you like a missionary loves mail
