poor guy.
We've been having just bomb lessons with our ''dry members'' as us missionaries call them. We have Marta, whose had more that a year investigating and also Ubano with just under two years investigating that HAVE DATE FOR BAPTISM!
Marta, has always believed and basically never misses church. She has just had the problemita with the word of wisdom and has struggled with her decision in returning to her ex-husband (which would force her to be breaking the law of chastity). So that's about where she's been for the past year or so. In the past few weeks, especially with my new companion, we've been challenging her to cut the ties with both of her bad habits. She has now I guess you could say, ''re-activated'' into the cause. We invited her to follow the example of Jesus Christ and leave behind all her addictions and trails ''for real'' this time. Theres a phrase in spanish that mean just boldly
f o r e v e r. and it has more beef than using to words just ''for real''. It was an aswesome lesson, she was crying a lot, but we ended with her baptismal date put for 23rd of August.
And Ubano, was just all ready to go, man. He has just been waiting for his chance to get married. We were a little confused when he told us this knowing that he wasn't living with anyone and honestly ever even seen with other women. But he informed us that his girlfriend (who's 20 years younger) lives just outside of our mission bounds in a place calld 'la vega'. So he sets it up so that we can meet with her in our area. And she made it down here at the beginning of last week and we left with the dates 22nd for the marriage and the 30th for his baptism. (so that he can be baptized with his grandaughter)
So, BOOM. Those dry members are on their way. They're still gotta relearn most of the lessons because of all the time that has passed, but we feel that these are rather firm dates.
I wish I had the focus to remember something else cool that happened this week. But it's just not coming to me. I'll make the effort to write the cool stuff down in my agenda.
Love you guys, pray for your own missionary oppurtunities. Leaving an awesome lesson makes you feel like when lehi and nephi walk out of the prison after it just exploded. It's awesome
